Warming up the engine in most circumstances should NOT be done before you start to drive, this can harm the vehicle and burn excess fuel.

When the engine is turned on, this is the most vulnerable time on the cars engine. The engine needs to warm up fast and this can only be achieved by driving and not just sitting in the car park with the engine turning over.
