More and more these days we are trying to seek a little peace and harmony. Constructing a noise barrier in you garden can often alleviate those troublesome background noises.

For  fence to be an effective noise barrier, it will need to be of a solid construction. It will need to be of a reasonable height 4 feet minimum. Over time the effectiveness will increase as plant life grows in front. It is possible to also obtain a small amount of relief by planting a hedge row, just remember this will take a year or so to become dense enough to effectively shut out surrounding noise.
